I took several reference photos of it with dramatic lighting, creating a contrasting image with lighting, shadows, and abstraction. I applied multiple layers of drips, scrapes, and tooling with anything I could find over a textured cradled panel. Afterwards, I overlaid the skull, highlighting his shadows in deep reds.
