We think this is a true bingata, done by hand with stencils, in the traditional Okinawa methods, probably pre 1970's. It has a bit of texture in the weave which seems to be some type of crepe but it's not chirimen, not pebbly; more striped. A lovely complex bingata, a bit drapey and supple. Excellent
